1. PRESERVE the fiscal integrity, social fabric, and inclusive and aesthetic character of our community
- Maintain strong financial management, AAA-bond rating, and ample surplus
- Sustain the beauty and usability of our parks by providing ample resources and maintenance to adequately care for them
- Proactively ensure Westfield remains an inclusive and welcoming community by disavowing hate or discrimination of any kind, and publicly supporting the communities as well as any group or individual who may face discrimination
- Continue to prioritize and model inclusivity by providing direction, mentorship, and resources to sustain the mission of Lifelong Westfield, Mental Health Commission, Human Relations Advisory Commission, and Adaptive/Inclusivity Committee
- Foster and retain our sense of community and civic pride by continuing to engage the public through volunteerism, community events, and transparent decision making and communication
- Preserve the character of our neighborhoods by discouraging residential tear downs and encouraging voluntary historic designation for qualifying properties, building on the unprecedented number of six voluntary designations in the past three years
- Memorialize AddamsFest as an economic development driver, brand differentiator, and community building event for future generations
- Strive to preserve The Rialto as a cultural/arts anchor for our downtown
- Preserve our “small town” sensibility while upgrading our municipal operations to better serve the public, including investing in automation and promoting a service-oriented “get to yes” culture among town employees
2. PROTECT the safety of our residents as well as the health of the public and the environment
- Ensure resident safety and security remains a top priority
- Continue to provide Westfield Police Department (WPD) and Fire Department with the adequate resources and equipment to provide the first-rate services our residents expect and deserve
- Maintain newly attained professional accreditation status of WPD and memorialize state best practices within the department
- Support efforts to expand and institutionalize community policing by fostering relationships between police and residents as a means to improve health, safety and welfare, and deter criminal activity
- Prioritize speeding and traffic enforcement to improve pedestrian and traffic safety
- Plan for the relocation of the Fire Department into a new modernized facility that reflects the demands and requirements of a 21st century firehouse
- Implement recommendations of traffic, pedestrian, and circulation plan to mitigate congestion, improve pedestrian safety, and enable multi-modal transportation throughout Town
- Prioritize Public Health
- Ensure adequate staffing and funding of regional health department to proactively address and manage future health crises
- Continue to enhance public health outreach to advance equitable health services and support for all of our residents
- Protect the Environment
- Continue Westfield’s evolution towards becoming a premier sustainable community and regional eco-destination by encouraging and supporting multi-modal transportation, incentivizing businesses that support health, sustainability, and wellness, and leveraging opportunities to lean into the green economy
- Establish a Climate Change action plan by incorporating the recommendations of the newly formed Westfield Infrastructure Resiliency Committee (WIRC) into a into all future zoning and planning efforts

- Maintain Westfield’s Sustainable Jersey certification annually
- Continue the transformation of the Conservation Center to a premier regional recycling facility and revenue generator for the town
- Prioritize storm water mitigation measures and allocate appropriate resources accordingly

- Continue to promote and encourage the use of alternative energy vehicles and equipment by Town departments and the public
3. PROMOTE PROGRESS through smart growth, park and field improvements, and enhanced services for our residents
- Revitalize our downtown
- Partner with Lord & Taylor property owner, Streetworks Development, to establish a publicly driven, fiscally responsible smart growth plan that enables a new downtown live/work/play ecosystem with improved streetscapes, vibrant public gathering spaces, and additional living and working options to support and sustain our local businesses for the long-term
- Implement a long-overdue downtown parking solution that meets the needs of post-COVID commuters, employees, and shoppers
- Continue to prioritize the Arts by incorporating murals, street art, and outdoor exhibits into all economic development efforts and elevating Westfield as a preeminent cultural destination
- Reign in developers and reclaim control over development
- Negotiate favorable redevelopment agreements where appropriate that require better architectural and construction standards, traffic mitigation measures, and public improvements
- Ensure fulfillment of Westfield’s Affordable Housing obligations while mitigating concerns over traffic, infrastructure, and school enrollment
- Bring recommendations from the Strategic Parks Plan to fruition, which includes improvements to existing parks and adding new facilities
- Prioritize the creation of new playing fields as recommended in the Strategic Parks Plan
- Create a detailed Master Plan for Tamaques Park and assess potential for relocation of Gumbert ice rink, additional parking, dog park, and bike and walking trails
- Implement parking, safety, and restroom improvements to Houlihan/Sid Fay
- Continue cleanup and capital improvements to Brightwood Park
- Plan for new playground at Windsor Park and new South Ave public park to be paid for by Westfield Crossing developer
- Prioritize new revenue streams, cost savings, and efficiencies to maximize productivity and hold the line on property taxes, while improving services
- Expand and diversify our tax base while exploring new ways to augment our revenue sources
- Continue to invest in capital and infrastructure to upgrade equipment and services and mitigate long-term maintenance costs
- Identify shared service opportunities with the Board of Education and surrounding towns focusing on facilities, maintenance, shared courts, and public works
- Invest in automation to improve customer service (ie Westfield Connect app, online payments) while reducing costs over the long-term
- Expand already successful road paving program with a goal of having every remaining Town road paved by 2025
4. PROMISE to always fight for you
- Continue to fight for Raritan Valley Line peak one-seat ride service as Co-Chair and Founder of the RVL Mayors’ Alliance, as a means to improve quality of life, drive economic growth, and improve property values
- Hold those accountable who continuously skirt our Town ordinances and disrupt the quality of life in our neighborhoods
- Advocate with Union County on behalf of our residents to ensure that Westfield receives its fair share of grants, funding, and support
- Pursue all possible grants, building on our track record of receiving $4 million in grants in our first term ($1.3 million greater than prior four years)
- Fulfill the promise of Westfield – keeping it the special place that attracted us here in the first place, while doing what we must to ensure our vibrancy and reputation as one of the premier towns in the state
