Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to enthusiastically endorse David Contract for re-election as Ward 3 Councilman. I’ve lived in Westfield for over 30 years, and I’ve never seen my councilman work as hard and care as much about our community as Councilman Contract. And I know he’ll continue doing this to move Westfield forward if he’s re-elected on Nov. 2.

I appreciate you taking a few minutes to read this. I realize your time is precious. That said, please join me in supporting Michael Dardia for re-election to Westfield’s Town Council Ward 2.

“Can you meet me for coffee? I have an idea.”

So it begins, Dawn Mackey has put her mind to a project. Although this simple question may seem like she is just conceiving it, this powerhouse councilwoman is many steps ahead in her mind. She sees the entire event unfolding, smiling children, happy parents, the town coming together for a morning, a day, an evening to celebrate, Westfield, our restaurants, our downtown, an underserved park, and while you are hearing about this one event, Dawn is planning others in her mind. These will be revealed when the time is right.

As a resident of Ward 1, I am so happy to hear that Councilwoman Linda Habgood is running to be our Town Council representative again. She has been such an asset to our town and our community over the last three and a half years.

To the Editor:

As a resident of Ward 1, in Westfield for more than 37 years, I am delighted to support Councilwoman Linda Habgood’s reelection to the Town Council as our Ward 1 representative. 

I first learned that Councilwoman Habgood was head of the Town Finance Committee at a 2018 Town Council budget meeting that I attended in order to hear from and evaluate the new administration that had been sworn in earlier that year.

Hello friends and neighbors!

Thank you for giving me the privilege to serve as your mayor for the last four years, a job I have taken on as a full time volunteer. I am thrilled to announce that I will once again be seeking your vote in November for another term along with Councilwoman Linda Habgood, Councilman Mike Dardia, Councilman David Contract, and Councilwoman Dawn Mackey, who were elected with me and collectively known as the Westfield Together team. We are excited and eager to continue to represent your interests and finish what we started.

Over these four years, I have had the privilege of realizing the satisfaction that comes with serving my community. I am grateful for the opportunity to help transform our local government and contribute to the growth and improvement of our amazing town.

Personally, I have learned a tremendous amount about collaboration, innovation and how to actualize creative ideas into concrete change. I’ve been in a position to engage with various agencies and organizations to solve complex and consequential problems. I enjoy knowing that fixing one neighbor’s problem usually helps the entire community. Every small issue we resolve improves the town as a whole.

I am excited to announce my decision to run for re-election to Westfield’s Town Council.

My work on the Council over the last 3+ years has enabled me to play many impactful roles, and I look forward to continuing my work to make Westfield a better place—for everyone.

I ask for your support, and I share below just some of the work I have done and will continue to do as your Ward 1 Councilmember and Deputy Mayor.

It’s been my honor to represent Ward 3 for the past three plus years, and I hope to have the opportunity to continue to do so for the next four.

I was inspired to run four years ago to be a strong voice for Ward 4, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for re-election. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your Councilwoman, and I look forward to continue working on your behalf.

During my first campaign I heard a consistent concern about the condition of our roads. My research indicated that Westfield did not have a process to properly assess road conditions or a plan for efficient repaving. I delivered on my promise to prioritize our paving.
