Shelley Brindle for Mayor
Michelle (Shelley) Brindle knows how to bring people together to get good things done.
As the first woman in the executive suite at HBO, she fostered innovation and collaboration to drive exceptional results during a time of marked disruption in her industry. She led HBO through its digital transformation while achieving the company’s best subscriber performance in three decades.
She left HBO last year to found Brindle and Associates, a media and leadership consulting firm, and pursue work in the non-profit and public service sectors that reflect what she values most: empowering people to affect positive change and transformation. That mission is why Shelley is running for Mayor of Westfield.Visit Shelley's website to learn more.
Linda Habgood for First Ward
Linda Habgood is running for a 1st Ward seat on the Town Council for one simple reason: She is passionate about Westfield. “Our town has a winning combination of attributes—smart citizens, strategic location, financial strength and great schools,” she says. “I am committed to making it even better.”
Linda knows finance. She and two partners own a small business that facilitates foreign direct investment in healthcare, clean power, education, start-ups, telecommunications, and infrastructure in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Michael Dardia for Second Ward
If you're reading this, you're probably one of the amazing friends and neighbors we've come to know living in Westfield. My family and I are proud members of this vibrant community that welcomed us thirteen years ago.
Westfield is a great place to live but I know that I can help improve it even further. I have a lot of ideas to enhance growth and encourage community involvement. I'm part of a strong ticket of leaders promising to engage business and residents in the process of growing our downtown and increasing transparency in our political discourse. We welcome any and all involvement from anyone hoping to contribute to improving the town we all love.
I'm proud of our town but we can make it even better. Thank you for the opportunity to represent this exceptional community.
David Contract for Third Ward
David Contract, like many of us, fell in love with Westfield while searching for a community to raise a growing family. “Valerie and I were struck by the welcoming people, the amazing restaurants and shops, the family-oriented atmosphere, and top-notch schools,” says David. “I’m running for Town Council, to represent Ward 3 and to make sure Westfield preserves that appeal for newcomers and longtime residents alike.”
David has already brought positive change to Westfield. Prompted by personal experience and health concerns, David spearheaded a smoking ban for downtown. He collected research on the dangers of secondhand smoke, talked to other residents, and presented his proposal to the Town Council. “I followed up repeatedly for over a year because I knew from talking to my neighbors this was an issue whose time had come,” David recalls
Dawn Mackey for Fourth Ward
Dawn Mackey has long been active in her community. From her days growing up in Brooklyn, to living as a young mother in Hoboken, to spending the last 12 years in Westfield as both parent and local entrepreneur, Dawn has stepped up time and again. Now, she will step up once more to run for Town Council, Fourth Ward.
In addition to running her own businesses and raising her kids, Dawn has immersed herself in volunteer work in Westfield. She’s chaired annual committees for the YMCA Preschool, Lincoln School and McKinley Elementary School. As an active parent in PAL cheer and flag football, she spends most Saturdays on the field selling pretzels and collecting for coat and food drives. This year, Dawn helped PAL renegotiate practice space, saving almost $2,000.
